Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can my tenants split the rent?
A: Absolutely. Your tenants can split the rent with as many roommates as they wish. You can track who has paid on time, who is late, and manage communication with each of them individually.
Q: How much does all of this cost?
A: We strive to keep most of our services free for landlords.  We charge $2 per transaction to collect rent via bank transfer.  And if a tenant wants to pay a month’s rent with a credit or debit card, we charge them $50 to cover our card fees.  That’s it, all our other services from finding tenants, applications, lease creation are all free of charge.
Q: Is my personal information on Rentlit secure?
A: Yes. At Rentlit, we are dedicated to our user’s privacy and security which is why we’ve committed to utilizing the latest in PCI compliance and industry leading security measures to maintain your privacy.  We store as little of your personal information as we can so the risk to you is minimized.
Q: How much do background checks cost?
A: Landlords don’t pay anything for background checks, but tenants pay $50 when they submit their background application.  The reason we charge for this is to cover our costs to subscribe to the various rating and reporting agencies.
Q: How do you help me find new tenants?
A: We’ve built relationships with a dozen of the major rental websites so when you are ready, we get your property maximum exposure to tenants looking for a place just like yours.  Interested tenants are encouraged to fill out our application form so you end up with an inbox full of applications rather than requests to confirm the price.
Q: Can I use Rentlit for my commercial property?
A: We built Rentlit with the residential market in mind, however have a good number of users that use Rentlit to manage their commercial properties.  We even have co-working spaces on the platform!
